Module Breakdown
Introduction to Interpersonal Communication
This module investigates the different communications styles and explore the impact on personal and professional relationships. Participants will develop an assertive mindset for application in a range of situations. Participants will learn essential skills for building rapport, active listening, and resolving conflicts, which are crucial in both personal relationships and professional settings
The Communication Process – Verbal & Non Verbal
This module explores how verbal and non-verbal cues work together to convey messages effectively. Participants will learn how to harness the power of words, tone, body language, and gestures to convey their intentions clearly and interpret the cues of others accurately. By delving into this essential aspect of communication, students acquire the skills needed to navigate nuanced interactions, fostering stronger connections and improving their overall communication prowess.
The Communication Process – Visual
In this module, participants learn how to communicate a range of messages effectively using visual aids and non-verbal communication tools and strategies, to include images, signs, non-verbal aspects of speech, appearance, colour and the surrounding environment. Participants will interpret images, to include work-related photos and diagrams, charts, maps, graphics, advertisements, pop videos, logos, statistical information.
Reading, Writing & Listening
This module demonstrate a range of reading techniques, to include skimming, scanning, in-depth study, identifying key points, extracting information, evaluating bias and purpose. Participants will extract the main facts, ideas, issues and opinions from a variety of aural and written sources, to include spoken and written media texts and material relevant to a vocational area.
Information Technology
This module explores the study of various communication technologies, networks, and information systems. It explores the fundamental principles and advancements in telecommunications, data transmission, internet technologies, and their impact on our interconnected world. Students delve into topics such as network protocols, wireless communication, data security, and the convergence of technologies.
Communication & Legislation
This module delves into the intricate web of laws and regulations that govern the communications industry. It covers topics such as telecommunications law, media regulations, intellectual property rights, privacy laws, and digital ethics. Students gain a comprehensive understanding of how these legal frameworks shape and influence communication technologies and practices.

Many of our courses are now available in a variety of classroom formats. All formats cover the same course content.
Live Virtual Online Classroom
Live lectures are delivered using Zoom (www.zoom.us) or MS Teams if requested. During these sessions, your tutors will use interactive learning elements to ensure an engaging learning experience. When appropriate, students will be encouraged to activate their video and microphones so that they can ask questions and enhance peer to peer learning
Online courses can be accessed from any computer or laptop with an internet connection.
In-Person and Onsite Classroom
Optimum Limited can provide in-company onsite training if requested. If there is not a classroom available, Optimum can provide a training room in the HQ Office in Dublin.
Optimum can also provide training in hotels conference rooms or room hires if requested.
On Demand
On Demand courses enable you to complete your course on your own time. Optimum have an e-learning platform called MyOptimum which includes a library of online on demand training programmes. This learning platform comprises of pre-recorded videos and interactive powerpoints followed by activities designed to put the new information and concepts into practice through exercises, quizzes, forum participation and other activities.
